Upcoming Gig…

This Friday I was informed that I would replace my friend Hugo as the bassists for the Hardcore band Mob Justice. I had no problem with that seeing how my guitarists Jonny is in the band as well. So I went over to their practice and had to learn about nine songs within one hour. The songs themselves are pretty easy but its just a lot to learn in such little time because I was then told that I would play at a show with them, this show is next Saturday. Its gonna be seven originals and two covers. Bass has a big part in Hardcore, Punk, and Crossover, so if I screw up it’ll be noticeable but I shall prevail and play this gig. Then after that the hassle of loading the equipment and taking it back to our practice location. This gig will help me a lot seeing on how it’ll give me the performance experience I need.

Ophthalmologist

Duties and Responsibilities: Ophthalmologist are physicians specialize in the treatment of eye disorders and diseases. They treat vision problems and write prescriptions for both pharmaceuticals and corrective eyeglass lenses. When necessary, they perform eye surgery. Most ophthalmologists are in private practice, however some are employed by hospitals, clinics and others perform research.

 Salary: $90,000 - $150,000.

Educational Requirements: Only physicians may study to become ophthalmologists. After completing medical school and an internship, an ophthalmologist must then complete a three to five year residency program they must pass an examination to be certified.

Reflection: I’d like to be a Ophthalmologists, the pay sure is good but I don’t really think this my are to specialize in.

Duties and Responsibilities: Ophthalmic Technicians or technicians help ophthalmologists collect data and measurements to allow the correct diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and problems. They work at hospitals, clinics or for ophthalmologists in private practice. Their duties often include,

·    Performing simple eye exams.

·    Assisting with eye surgery.

·    Explaining diagnostic and treatment procedures to patients.

Average Salary: $14,000 -

 $25,000.

Educational Requirements: Students are

Required to have a high school diploma or GED certificate and at least two years of college prior to beginning ophthalmic training programs. These programs may vary in length, but can take up to two years to complete.

Reflection: I would not like to be a Ophthalmic Technician just because I don’t really like to work with other people.

100 Goals Progress…

The goals I have set up for myself aren’t really ones that I’d be able to accomplish right away. Most involve long term commitment to accomplish. For instance, one of my goals is to play on a stage in Europe. But in order to do that I have to start a successful band and record some good material and send it out to some European labels. Most my goals involve visiting other countries and music. I may not be able to accomplish all of them but at least some of them would be nice.

Operating Room Technician

Duties and Responsibilities: Operating room technicians are also called surgical technologists. They assists in preparing operating rooms for surgery. They are also responsible for having surgical instruments, sterile bandages and linens, needed fluids and other equipment ready for the operation. They may also assists doctors by handing them needed instruments during surgery and counting sponges and needles for before and after the operation. They deliver specimens to hospital laboratories for analysis, and after operations they take patients to the recovery room.

Average Salary: $16,000 - $22,000.

Educational Requirements: High school diploma or GED is required. Many junior and vocational colleges offer programs in operating room technology, training may also even be taken place in large hospitals. Programs vary from one-two years.
